Abstract: This paper reviewed the progress of mechanism of acupuncture on weight loss. Three new possible pathways for further direction were analyzed based on the new data of glucose and lipid metabolism network. It was believed that the network-regulating phenomenon observed in acupuncture research should be promoted to the level of discovering the new mechanism of glycolipid metabolism， that was， network interaction integration and inter-organizational response coordination， to discover the unique mechanism of acupuncture. The research mode of acupoint-target might lead to the loss of independent development of acupuncture， and the research path of acupoint-network-target might be the very strategy to improve and develop acupuncture medicine.
