Abstract:
National Chinese medicine master Zou Yanqin believes that the core pathogenesis of diabetic nephropathy (DN) is "deficiency of the spleen and kidney is taken as the root, dampness and blood stasis obstructing the meridians and collaterals is taken as the superficial causes". Professor Zou emphasizes that DN occurrence and development are most closely related with spleen and kidney, dampness and blood stasis are throughout the whole course of the disease. Clinically, Zou makes differentiation and treatment on the basis of risk stratification, which can effectively reduce proteinuria, delay the progression of renal function and improve patients' life quality.
