Abstract:
This paper explores the strategies of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) for the whole-cycle prevention and treatment of asthma in children based on the theory of "preventing disease before it occurs". It proposes that prevention before the onset of disease should focus on identifying and regulating the constitution to reduce the risk of asthma; treatment during the acute phase should prioritize eliminating pathogenic factors, employing a graded and stepwise approach with collaborative treatment between TCM and Western medicine; treatment during the chronic phase should focus on strengthening the healthy qi and eliminating pathogenic factors, regulating qi circulation and addressing both the root cause and symptoms; and prevention should emphasize strengthening the body's healthy qi to eliminate the underlying causes of asthma. Throughout the entire cycle, attention should be paid to the diagnosis and treatment of asthma-related comorbidities and the assessment of asthma control levels. This aims to provide a reference for the clinical application of TCM in the prevention and treatment of asthma in children, and to establish a rational and effective collaborative prevention and treatment system for asthma in children using both TCM and Western medicine.
