Abstract:
Metal-organic complexes have a long history of clinical application and have shown remarkable efficacy in the treatment of hypertension, skin infections and gastrointestinal diseases. In recent years, the application of metalloids in anti-bacterial infection therapy and their mechanism of action have been widely studied. In this paper, three commonly used metallodrugs are selected as examples to review the progress and mechanism of metalloids in antibacterial applications, the research of novel metal-based drugs and the metallodrugs with extracted components of traditional Chinese medicines and their derivatives, and to analyze the potential advantages of metallodrugs in the field of antibacterial.
