Abstract: Animal TCM resources are an important part of TCM resources, which have a long history of application in China and have unique biological activities. As a branch discipline of traditional Chinese medicine resources, the discipline construction of medicinal animal resources is still in the development stage, and it is urgent to strengthen the construction efforts and constantly improve the discipline system. The scientific research in the field of animal traditional Chinese medicine mainly involves the investigation of medicinal animal resources, the standardized breeding and quality standard system, the utilization and protection of animal research resources, and the search and replacement of new resources of rare and endangered medicinal animals. Based on the induction and analysis of the previous research results, the further research and development direction of animal TCM is proposed, in order to provide reference for the discipline construction, personnel training, scientific research, social service and industrial development in the field of animal TCM resources, and to provide support for the high-quality development of animal TCM industry and industry in China.
