Exploring the Biological Basis of Guasha Therapy on Lumbar Disc Herniation Based on iTRAQ Technique

  • OBJECTIVE To analyze the proteomics changes of dorsal root ganglion in rats with lumbar disc herniation by using iTRAQ combined with LC-MS/MS technique to explore the biological basis of Guasha therapy. METHODS 18 SD rats were randomly divided into three groups: sham group, model group and Guasha group. The Guasha therapy were performed on Guasha group on the 5th day after the operation, once every other day and totally 9 times. The right L5 dorsal root ganglion were collected for proteomics analysis through iTRAQ combined with LC-MS/MS technique. RESULTS 106 proteins were obtained. Among them, 41 were the up-regulated expression proteins and 65 were the down-regulated expression proteins. Five typical biological signaling pathways and one network, which showed the most significant meaning, were obtained through the analysis. CONCLUSION Guasha therapy can treat LDH through reducing the peroxidation damage and inflammatory injury, protecting nerve and tissue, and inhibiting the intervertebral disc degeneration.
