Abstract
OBJECTIVE To observe the clinical effect of modified Ganlu Xiaodu Dan in the treatment of children with hand, foot and mouth disease of damp-heat accumulation toxin syndrome. METHODS Sixty children with hand, foot and mouth disease were randomly divided into the experiment group and the control group, and 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional western medicine for symptomatic treatment. On the basis of the conventional treatment, the experiment group was also treated with modified Ganlu Xiaodu Dan. Three days were taken as one course, and the treatment was last for two courses, that is, 6 days totally. Cure rate, time for body temperature recovery, healing time of oral herpes, disappearing time of hand and foot rash and changes of enterovirus before and after treatment in two groups were observed. RESULTS Cure rate, time for body temperature recovery, healing time of oral herpes, disappearing time of hand and foot rash in the treatment group all better than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05,P<0.01). After the treatment, the improvement of the changes of enterovirus was significantly better than that of the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). CONCLUSION Modified Ganlu Xiaodu Dan has good clinical effect in the treatment of hand, foot and mouth disease. It can effectively inhibit enterovirus in children with hand, foot and mouth disease, which worthy of clinical promotion.
