Effects of Jiannao Yizhi Powder Combined with Acupuncture on Athletic Ability， Language Ability and Daily Living Ability of Children with Cerebral Palsy

OBJECTIVE To study the effects of Jiannao Yizhi powder combined with acupuncture on athletic ability， language ability and daily living ability of children with cerebral palsy. METHODS From January 2014 to October 2016， 86 children with cerebral palsy admitted in our hospital were selected as the subjects， and they were divided into two groups by random digital table method. The control group was treated with general comprehensive rehabilitation program， on the basis of this， the observation group was also treated with Jiannao Yizhi powder combined with acupuncture. 88 large motor function scale (GMFM-88) score， Gesell language development quotient (DQ) score， assessment daily life (ADL) score， cerebral blood flow perfusion， CT changes， clinical effect and adverse effects in two groups were recorded and compared before and after treatment. RESULTS GMFM-88 and Gesell DQ scores of children in two group were significantly increased after 3-month and 6-month treatment compared with those of the pre-treatment (P<0.01)， and the observation group increased more significantly than the control group， the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). ADL scores of children in two groups were significantly decreased after 3-month and 6-month treatment compared with those of the pre-treatment (P<0.01)， and the observation group decreased more significantly than the control group (P<0.01). After 6 months of treatment， the total effective rate of the observation group was 90.7%， while that of the control group was 72.1%， the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in adverse reactions between the 2 groups (P>0.05). After 6 months of treatment， the blood flow velocity (VP) and blood flow resistance index (RI) of the middle cerebral artery in the observation group were significantly decreased (P<0.01)， and the curative effect was better than that in the control group (P<0.01). CONCLUSION For children with cerebral palsy， Jiannao Yizhi powder combined with acupuncture can effectively improve the overall development of the brain， improve their athletic ability， language ability and daily living ability with significant efficacy and high safety.
