Abstract
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the clinical effect of Z-poke needle in the treatment of periarthritis of shoulder. METHODS A total of 128 patients with periarthritis of shoulder were randomly divided into 2 groups, with 64 cases in each group. Z-poke needle therapy was performed in the treatment group. Electroacupuncture therapy was conducted in the control group. After the treatment, the patients of two groups were guided to do the functional exercise of shoulder joint such as lift, extension, adduction, abduction, etc, in order to evaluate the clinical curative effect before and after the treatment. RESULTS After 2 courses of treatment, the functional level of shoulder joint significantly improved after the treatment(P<0.01), and the joint mobility of the treatment group improved more obviously than that of the control group(P<0.01). As for VAS score, the pain score of the treatment group decreased more significantly compared with that of the control group(P<0.01), and the UCLA score of the treatment group rose higher than that of the control group(P<0.05), and the difference was statistically significant. The total effective rate of the treatment group (93.75%) was significantly higher than that of the control group (84.38%),P<0.05.CONCLUSION The method of Z-poke needle has definite curative effects on periarthritis of shoulder with simple manipulation and should be widely applied to clinical practice.
