Discussion on Professor Xia Guicheng's Academic Thought of Treating Amenorrhea by Regulating Heart

Professor Xia Guicheng put great emphasis on the treating of amenorrhea by regulating heart. He thinks that heat is closely related to amenorrhea. Heart-kidney-uterine plays an important role in menses and its periodic changes. If the balance of heart and spleen is disturbed and the heart qi is blocked， then the heart qi will be stagnated and the uterine vessels will be blocked， which together will cause amenorrhea. According to menstrual cycle and cycle regulating theory， thought amenorrhea may have lasted for a long time， the patients are still in the period of postmenstrual， and they have imbalance of Yin zhang gui shui， or there are other factors together contribute to the severe Yin zhang and it has problem transferring into Yang. Therefore patients have problem having ovulation to expel the eggs. So the treating should focus on postmenstrual period. Tranquilizing mind is of great significance to the treatment. On the basis of yin enriching and kidney nourishing， drugs which can tranquilize the mind should be used and during the same time， doctors should care about patients' emotions and try to help them to be optimistic.
