Study on Extraction Process of Terpenoids in the Mixture of Frankincense and Myrrh

  • OBJECTIVE Optimization of extracting process of terpenoids in frankincense-myrrh. METHODS UPLC-TQ/MS technology was used to establish the determination method of 10 kinds of terpenoids in frankincense and myrrh; the orthogonal design was used to optimize the extraction process based on the results of single factor experiment on the extraction method, ethanol concentration, solid-liquid ratio, extraction time and extraction times. RESULTS The optimal extraction conditions were as follows: 12 times of 95% ethanol, refluxing and extracting for 2 h, totally extracting 2 times. The content of total terpenoids was 10.44%. CONCLUSION The extraction process optimized by orthogonal experiment is stable and feasible, which provide technical support for the further development and utilization.
