Abstract
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of Sparganii pill on the expression of VEGF of intestinal fibrosis model rats. METHODS 40 SD rats were randomly divided into SparganiI pill low, middle and high dose treatment groups, control group and model group. 5% TNBS was used to establish an intestinal fibrosis model. Starting from modeling, rats were given SparganiI pill decoction with different concentrations (10.0, 5.0, 2.5 g/kg) orally once a day; 0.8 mL saline were given in the model and control groups. 35 d later, the colon specimens were collected to make pathology evaluation and the levels of E-cadherin, α-SMA, collagen Ⅰ and VEGF were detected by Western blot and qPCR assay. RESULTS Compared with the model group, Sparganii pill in high and middle dose groups inhibited the degree of intestinal fibrosis and reduced the levels of expression of collagen Ⅰ and VEGF. The effect of the high dose group of Sparganii pill was more significant. CONCLUSION Sparganii pill decoction shows an effect of anti-intestinal fibrosis by down-regulating the expression level of VEGF.
