Study of Deficiency and Excess Syndrome of Body Fluid Metabolism in Sepsis Patients

  • VE: OBJECTIVE To discuss clinical characteristics of body fluid of metabolism septic patients of deficiency and excess syndrome in ER. METHODS The characteristics were compared between two groups of septic patients in ER from January 2009 and October 2011. RESULTS There were no significant differences in the patient age, mortality, hemodynamic changes and the length of stay between two groups. Nevertheless, there were remarkable differences in the rate of respiratory machine, input and output of liquid and the APACHE II score. CONCLUSION The fluid collection is easy to appear in deficiency syndrome patients. The effective circulating blood volume is not enough in excess syndrome patients. Fluid therapy can achieve good outcome in excess syndrome patients, but not in deficiency syndrome patients.
