Yangyin Runchang Decoction Treating 54 Cases of Solw Transit Constipation

OBJECTIVE To observe clinical therapeutic effect and the short-term recurrence rate of Yangyin Runchang Decoction on slow transit constipation (STC) patients. METHODS 90 cases of STC were randomly divided into observation group (54 cases) which were treated with Yangyin Runchang Decoction and control group (36 cases) which were applied with Maren Soft Capsule. The treatment course of each group was 42 days. The clinical effect of each group was evaluated by the index of fecal character， time for defecation and intervals， difficulty of defecation， the short-term recurrence rate was also included. RESULTS After statistical analysis， the symptom scores of each group not only revealed a general trend of increase， but also indicated remarkable vary of the rises (P<0.01). The total effective rate of each group was 96% and 80% respectively. The short-term recurrence rate of two groups was 5.7% and 24.1%. CONCLUSION Yangyin Runchang Decoction can decrease the short-term recurrence incidence of STC and take an indispensable role in improving the clinical effect by reducing the symptom scores sharply.
