Treatment of 42 Cases of Chronic Pelvic Inflammation with Acupuncture at Abdomen and Loin Combined with Medium- frequency Electrotherapy

OBJECTIVE To observe the clinical effect of acupuncture at abdomen and loin combined with medium-frequency electrotherapy in the treatment of chronic pelvic inflammation.METHOD Eighty-two patients were randomly divided into a treatment group of 42 patients and a control group of 40 patients,the former treated with acupuncture at the abdomen and loin combined with medium-frequency electrotherapy and the latter,just medium-frequency electrotherapy.RESULT The cure rate,markedly effective rate,effective rate and total effective rate in the treatment group were 47.6%,26.2%,16.7% and 90.5 respectively,while these figures in the control group were 27.5%,20%,15% and 62.5% respectively,with marked difference between the two groups(P<0.01).CONCLUSION Better effect was obtained in the treatment group than in the control group.
