Clinical Investigation on Effect of Xiaokekang Capsule on Prognosis of Patients with Impaired Glucose Regulation

OBJECTIVE To investigate into effect of Xiaokekang Capsule on patients with impaired glucose regulation(IGR).METHOD Eighty-eight IGR patients were randomly divided into two groups: a treatment group treated with Xiaokekang Capsule and a control group treated only with placebo.Both groups were given IGR and DM education and guidance on diet and exercise.RESULT After six months,the blood sugar and blood lipid were properly regulated in the treatment group.Among 43 patients,IGR changed into NGT in 27 patients.In the control group,this figure was only 14.There was marked difference between the two groups(P<0.01).CONCLUSION Xiaokekang Capsule has good intervening and therapeutic effect in proventing the transformation from IGR to type II diabetes.
