Thoughts on the Development of Animal Models for Subjective Symptoms

  • The mechanism of subjective symptoms and the development of innovative drugs depend on experimental animal models. Reviewing animal models with common subjective symptoms, the animal models of subjective symptoms such as pain, insomnia, itching and dry eyes are relatively mature and stable, making outstanding contributions to the research and development of innovative drugs. However, animal models of subjective symptoms such as vertigo, irritability, chest tightness, fullness, backache and limb numbness have not been reported. Based on this, this paper briefly summarizes the current situation of the preparation of some subjective symptom animal models. Finally, some suggestions on the preparation methods and evaluation indexes of subjective symptom animal models are put forward, in order to increase the exploration efforts in this field.
