Research Progress of Traditional Chinese medicine Regulating Ferroptosis to Inhibit Hepatic Fibrosis

  • Ferroptosis is an iron-dependent programmed cell death, which is closely related to iron metabolism, lipid metabolism and amino acid antioxidant system. Ferroptosis plays an important role in the development of hepatic fibrosis and may become a potential target for the prevention and treatment of hepatic fibrosis. Studies have shown that a large number of Chinese medicine components can inhibit hepatic fibrosis through ferroptosis pathway. This article reviews the regulatory pathways of ferroptosis, the role of ferroptosis in hepatic fibrosis and treatment strategies, and summarizes the research on the intervention of ferroptosis by Chinese medicine monomers and active ingredients in the treatment of hepatic fibrosis in the past five years, in order to provide new ideas for the intervention of Chinese medicine and anti-hepatic fibrosis.
