Abstract
Panvascular diseases are a group of systemic vascular diseases with common pathological features of vasculopathy. Atherosclerosis (AS) is the common pathological basis of panvascular diseases, so it is of great importance to understand the law of occurrence and development, as well as the characteristics of vascular diseases for the prevention and treatment of panvascular diseases. The study considers the phlegm, stasis, toxicity, and wind as the common pathogenic factors in the occurrence of panvascular disease AS, among which the binding of phlegm and stasis is the core pathogenesis, while the pathogenic wind transformed by turbidity and toxicity is the important links in the disease occurrence and development. Insect medicine is known for its ability to expel and drive away pathogenic factors with its unique efficacy in dispelling phlegm, removing stasis, draining turbidity, and unblocking collaterals, so it may begin a new chapter in the treatment of panvascular diseases.
