A Review on Protective Effect of Traditional Chinese Medicine on Cisplatin-Induced Ototoxicity

  • As a first-line chemotherapeutic drug, cisplatin displays wide ototoxicity. Tumor patients treated with cisplatin usually suffer from tinnitus and deafness, Preventing and relieving the ototoxicity caused by cisplatin has become an urgent problem to be solved. Reports have revealed the certain preventive and therapeutic effects of active components in traditional Chinese medicine on cisplatin ototoxicity. This review summarizes the recent researches on the protection of traditional Chinese medicine on cisplatin's ototoxicity, providing new insights for seeking strategies to alleviate the side effects of chemotherapy drugs.
