It also introduces the number and funding rate of the application and funding status of general, youth and regional projects, and the types of the funded diseases. We conclude that funded projects of diabetes are centered on the diseases which the traditional chinese medicine is good at diagnosis and treatment. Further analysis show that, NSFC prefer to support the project which face to clinical needs, focus on frontier scientific issues, pay attention to the basic research of TCM prevention and treatment of diabetes, promote interdisciplinary development, strengthen original innovation. However, there are some problems such as lack of theoretical support of TCM and unclear attribute of scientific problems.
