A Study in Relationship between Dosage and Effect of Prescriptions Recorded in Medical Treasures of the Golden Chamber

  • There is a close connection between the dosage and effect of Chinese drug prescriptions, which comprises the main contents in the study of prescriptions and drugs. The authors carried out a study of this kind with the prescriptions recorded in Medical Treasures of the Golden Chamber, and have obtained the relationship curve based on statistical analysis. It was found that the common dosages of prescriptions are relatively restricted to a small range, with certain regularities in the changes of effects. In addition, the dosage is affected by factors such as the main indications, drug compatibility and dosage forms. This paper present the authors' exploration into the relationship between dosage and the effect of prescriptions.
