The Study of Gene Network of Yin Deficiency and Yang Excess Syndrome of Essential Hypertension

  • OBJECTIVE To study the gene network of yin deficiency and yang excess syndrome of essential hypertension to support the syndrome differentiation. METHODS Genes related to yin deficiency and yang excess syndrome of essential hypertension were collected from the literatures and CYTOSCAPE was used for the network construction and MCODE for modularized analysis. After that, a functional enrichment analysis was performed to find the biological processes and pathways of the most important modules. RESULTS The modules containing most genes had 17 genes which were related to vascular remodeling, vascular smooth muscle cell proliferation regulating, apoptosis regulating, MAPK signal pathway, Toll-like receptors signal pathway and NOD-like receptors signal pathway. VEGFA, ACE and MAPK9 had the highest genetic link frequency. CONCLUSION VEGFA, ACE and MAPK9 have the strongest connection in the network. Vascular remodeling has the strongest connection with MAPK signal pathway.
