Approach on Professor Xiao Shaoqing's Research Theory of the Treatment of Difficult Diseases

  • Xiao Shaoqing, Professor of Nanjing University of Chinese medicine, has practiced medicine for more than 60 years and formed a broad thought on diagnosing and treating difficult diseases with significant effects. Firstly, guided by Qihuang, Pro. Xiao took regulating spirit as the most important. Secondly, he adhered to treatment through relieving the primary and the secondary aspects by adopting both acupuncture and Chinese medicine. Thirdly, postnatal base was carried through to the end during treating diseases. Fourthly, Pro. Xiao kept broadening the thought by absorbing the essence in western medicine. Lastly, he always took the three-section acupuncture methods and penetration needling technique when practicing needling.
