Introduction to Diagnosis and Treatment of Vertigo in Internal Canon of Yellow Emperor

It is believed in Internal Canon of Yellow Emperor that the reasons and pathogenesis of vertigo involve invasion of exogenous factors， changes of qi circulation， internal damage of visceral organs， abnormal circulation of meridian qi. In terms of meridians， it is related to the Urinary Bladder Channel of Foot Taiyang， Liver Channel of Foot-Jueyin and Gall-bladder Channel of Foot-Shaoyang. As for the internal organs， it is correlated to the brain and liver. Acupuncture is put forward as the major method for vertigo in Internal Canon of Yellow Emperor， with the treatment principles being asthenia syndrome requiring purgation and deficiency syndrome demanding tonification.
