Zhang Zhijian’s Experience of Treating Nephropathy Hematuria

  • Professor Zhang Zhijian diagnoses and treats hematuria of nephropathy by differentiating deficiency and excess which may be due to wind heat, dampness heat or toxic heat; zang and fu organs which may be caused by qi deficiency or yin deficiency. The location of this disease is lung, spleen and kidney. Therapies like cooling heat and blood, nourishing qi and blood, strengthening spleen and kidney, clearing away dampness and heat are often applied by Doctor Zhang who also advocates treating both the root cause and symptoms of this disease. He believes stopping blood urine is of priority at the acute stage, while curing the causes is the final object at the stable stage.
