Discussion on Modern Clinical Bibliometric Analysis and Its Characteristics of Grain-sized Moxibustion

  • OBJECTIVE To explore the disease spectrum of grain-sized moxibustion and its characteristics. METHODS By reviewing clinical literature, certain literature about grain-sized moxibustion published from 1980 to 2012 were collected from China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI). RESULTS The clinical application of grain-sized moxibustion has been increased gradually and the range of diseases it can treat is wider, reaching more than 40 different kinds related to many clinical departments. It is commonly used in nerve, mental and digestive system diseases, as well as diseases of orthopaedics and dermatology. After specific analysis of statistics, it is mostly used in the treatment of arthritis. CONCLUSION The grain-sized moxibustion has the function of obvious dual-directional regulation: it may dispel cold and also may purge heat; may reinforce insufficiency but also reduce excessiveness. The grain-sized moxibustion may have a good effect on difficult miscellaneous diseases.
