ZHAng Xi-chun''''s Experience in Using Diaphoretic Method to Treat Epidemic Febrile Diseases

ZHANG Xi-chun,a doctor in modern time,was skillful at using the diaphoretic method to treat epidemic febrile disease.He often used drugs cool or cold in nature and pungent in flavor in the treatment.According to different pathogeneses and symptoms,he was competent in inducing diaphoresis to expel the pathogenic factors.He believed that "when yin and yang are in equilibrium,sweating follows" and that "sweating facilitates the regulation of yin and yang." These academic thoughts and clinical experiences are worth our further study.
