Treatment of 46 Cases of Moderately Severe Reflux Esophagitis with Chinese Medicine Combined with Western Medicine

  • OBJECTIVE To observe the therapeutic effect of combined treatment of moderately severe reflux esophagitis. METHOD Random clinical observation method was used. The 46 patients were treated with Chinese medicine Xuanfu Daihe Decoction and western medicine esomeprazole, compared with 40 patients treated with only esomeprazole. RESULT Both groups showed some improvement, with a ratio of P < 0.05. But the cure rate and recurrence control rate in the combined treatment group was 82.6% and 5.88%, which were markedly satisfactory than 62.5 % in the control group ( P < 0.05). CONCLUSION The combined method is quite effective for moderately severe reflux esophagitis.
