Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To observe the efficacy of invigorate qi and warm yang formula on myelosuppression in patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer. METHODS 60 patients with lung and spleen (qi) yang deficiency syndrome of non-small cell lung cancer were randomly divided into experimental group and control group, 30 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional chemotherapy, and the experimental group was treated with invigorating qi and warming yang formula on the basis of control group, until the end of second stage chemotherapy. The blood routine, liver and kidney function were compared between two groups on first day before chemotherapy, the second day and the fifth day after chemotherapy. The changes of TCM symptoms, quality of life, related tumor indicators and immune function indexes were compared before and after chemotherapy. RESULTS The incidence of severe inhibition of bone marrow in experimental group was lower than that in control group during the treatment period (
P<0.05). The improvement of quality of life of experimental group was superior to the control group (
P<0.05). The experimental group has certain advantages in improving the symptoms of TCM and specific tumors of certain lung cancers compared with the control group (
P<0.05). CONCLUSION Invigorating qi and warming yang formula combined with chemotherapy in the treatment of advanced non-small cell lung cancer can significantly reduce the degree of myelosuppression and effectively improve the clinical symptoms of patients, the stability of disease treatment, the quality of life, and cause less adverse reactions.
