Abstract: OBJECTIVE To prepare cyclodextrin inclusion compound of volatile oil in Jiawei Zexie Fang and study its transdermal diffusion effect. METHODS Use saturated aqueous solution method and grinding method to prepare cyclodextrin inclusion compound of volatile oil respectively. The inclusion rate and drug loading were determined by HPLC. The appearance， stability， in vitro release and in vitro transdermal experiments were investigated.RESULTS The vitro transdermal delivery experiment showed that drug cumulative release of inclusion compound were lower than volatile oil/soluble starch control group in 24h and the order of drug release was as following， volatile oil/HP-β-cyclodextrin inclusion complex>volatile oil/DM-β-cyclodextrin inclusion complex>volatile oil/β-cyclodextrin inclusion complex， which was contrary to the order of the inclusion compound stability study.CONCLUSION The volatile oil/cyclodextrin inclusion compound can delay the release of volatile oil extracted from Jiawei Zexie Fang.
