Clinical Observation of Plasma Exchange Combined with Liangxue Huayu Formula on Chronic Severe Hepatitis

OBJECTIVE To observe the clinical efficacy of plasma exchange combined with Liangxue Huayu Formula on treating severe hepatitis. METHODS Patients diagnosed with severe hepatitis in observation group (43 cases) were treated with plasma exchange and Liangxue Huayu Formula. While the control group (40 cases) were only received plasma exchange and basic treatment. The liver function index， coagulation index and the change of T cell subsets the two groups were recorded after eight weeks of treatment. RESULTS The effective rate of the observation group was 81.39% while that of the control group was 65%. There was a statistical difference between the two groups ( P <0.05). The clinical symptoms， TCM syndrome score and liver function index， coagulation index， and changes of T cell subsets were significantly improved after treatment( P <0.05). The improvement of TCM syndrome score， indicators of liver function and coagulation， the percentage of CD4⁺ and CD4⁺/CD8⁺ in observation group were significantly better than that of the control group( P <0.05， P <0.01). CONCLUSION Plasma exchange combined with Liangxue Huayu Formula can effectively treat severe hepatitis， as well as improving patients' liver function， coagulative function and T cell subsets.
