Considerations and Countermeasures of Knowledge Element Indexing for Case Records in Ancient Chinese Medical Books

  • Through discussing the operation process of the template indexing based on knowledge element indexing and its shortcomings, we propose the custom node indexing as a solution. The custom node indexing establishes the coding relationship with knowledge elements as nodes. Thus, it realizes the construction of knowledge network. Compared with the template indexing method, it solves such problems as missing knowledge elements, insufficient semantic association, and semantically non-minimal knowledge units. In conclusion, custom node indexing is more perfect in preserving the original coding text and constructing logical relations, and has more feasibility and practical application value.
