Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To detect the expression levels of CD4+, CD8+ Tlymphocytes and CD4+ CD25+ Treg in the peripheral blood of patients with vitiligo after the treatment of NBUVB combined with Tuibai Granule, and then explore the relationship between vitiligo pathogenesis and the levels of CD4+, CD8+ Tlymphocytes as well as CD4+ CD25+ Treg. METHODS The expression levels of CD4+, CD8+ Tlymphocytes and CD4+ CD25+ Treg were detected by FlowCytometry among 120 cases of vitiligo patients and 30 cases of healthy control group. Then the 120 cases were further divided into three groups, with 40 cases in each group. Patients in the treatment group were treated with NBUVB combined with Tuibai Granule; Patients in the control groupⅠwere only given NBUVB, while those in the control groupⅡonly took Tuibai Granule. After 3 months treatment, the changes of the CD4+/CD8+ ratio and the expression levels of CD4+ CD25+ Treg were once again tested and the comparison was made among the four groups. RESULTS The CD4+ Tlymphocytes level in the peripheral blood decreased significantly, while the CD8+ Tlymphocytes level increased evidently. There were significant statistical differences when compared with the healthy control group(P<0.01); The CD4+/CD8+ ratio of the progressive stage was much lower than that of the stable stage(P<0.01); the CD4+/CD8+ ratio of the stable stage had no statistical difference when compared to that of the healthy control group(P>0.05). The frequency of CD4+, CD25+ Treg of vitiligo patients was significantly lower than that of healthy control group(P<0.01), and the frequency of CD4+, CD25+ Treg of the progressive stage was also lower than that of the stable stage(P<0.01). After treatment with NBUVB combined with Tuibai Granule, the CD4+/CD8+ ratio and the frequency of CD4+, CD25+ Treg were significantly up-regulated compared with either the control groupⅠor the control groupⅡ(P<0.01,P<0.05). CONCLUSION These findings suggest that the abnormal level of CD4+/CD8+ ratio and the frequency of CD4+, CD25+ Treg might be involved in the vitiligo pathogenesis. NBUVB combined with Tuibai Granule can prevent vitiligo by regulating the CD4+/CD8+ ratio and the frequency of CD4+, CD25+ Treg.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To study preparation method and drug releasing in vitro and endogastric bioadhesion properties and killing Hp activity in vitro of berberine-carbomer salt. METHODS Influencing factor such as variety of carbomer, the concentration of carbomer and berberine are studied by single factor experiment using the yield and the drug loading as evaluating indicator. The release rate of berberine from berberine-carbomer salt in vitro are measured by using Chinese Pharmacopeia (CP) 2010 oar method. The endogastric bioadhesion of berberine-carbomer salt are evaluated by determining the adhesive force of berberine-carbomer salt with the rat gastric mucosa in vitro, and the remaining percentage on the rat’s gastric mucosa in vitro or in rat’s stomach in vivo. The killing Hp activity in vitro of berberine-carbomer salt are evaluated by cylinder plate method. RESULTS The optimizing variety is carbomer 974P, and the concentration of carbomer 974P is 0.25%, berberine is 0.3%, with the ratio between carbomer solution and berberine solution being 2∶1. The releasing of berberine-carbomer salt indicates the delayed releasing properties in the dissolution mediator with pH 1.2. The adhesive force of berberine-carbomer salt with the rat gastric mucosa and the remaining percentage on the rat’s gastric mucosa in vitro are larger than berberine. The endogastric stagnation time in rat of berberine-carbomer salt is longer than berberine. CONCLUSION Berberine-carbomer salt possess superordinary properties of delayed releasing and endogastric bioadhesion.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To study the FT-IR characterization of components of Fructus Corni and the relationship between information in IR and Maillard reaction during processing. METHODS Fructus Corni was processed by steaming with wine for 48 h. During processing, samples processed at different time points were collected to carry out infrared spectrum analysis. RESULTS It could be deduced from the spectra that there were alcohols, organic acids, esters and so on in Fructus Corni. When being processed, the amounts of components changed slightly and stabilized gradually with main peaks at 3309 cm-1, 1713 cm-1 and 1028 cm-1. During processing, the content of amine-group compounds showed an upward trend in 0~24 h, while showed an opposite trend in 24~48 h, therefore 24 h could be regarded as the optimal processing time in consideration of IR information and results of our previous study of Maillard reaction of Fructus Corni. CONCLUSION This infrared spectroscopy method is simple and convenient to analyze Fructus Corni samples during processing, and can preliminary recognize the main ingredients in samples. Combined with the study of Maillard reaction of Fructus Corni, it could provide useful references for the optimization of processing of Fructus Corni.

RESULTS After JYSXD was boiled for 30 min, each element was not able to completely precipitated. However, after the decoction was boiled for 60 min, all the elements were completely precipitated. K, Ca, Na, Mg, Al, Zn, Fe, Sn, B, Li and Sr were detected, while Cd and As were not found. Among them, K was the highest in the content of major elements and Zn was the highest in trace elements. Each mineral elements in JYSXD showed good linear relationship (r>0.999 0), RSD of precision, stability and repeatability test all satisfied the requirement of quantitative analysis. The recovery was 95.07%~100.83% (RSD<3%). CONCLUSION In order to reduce the decocting time and maintain the solution of mineral elements in JYSXD as much as possible, the decocting time should be controlled at 60 min. The experimental results provide basis for material basis and pharmacodynamics study of Jieyu Shunxin Decoction.
Professor WANG Shouchuan's Clinical Experience in Treating Pediatric Tonsillitis
HE Li-li
2016, 32(1): 87-89.
Abstract:
According to professor Wang Shouchuan's clinical experience, pediatric tonsillitis can be divided into acute tonsillitis and chronic tonsillitis based on syndrome differentiation, and the treatment principle is to resolve toxin and disperse swelling. The acute tonsillitis can be further divided into the syndrome of toxin congesting lung and throat and syndrome of muscle fester based on the clinical feature, with the former being treated by dispelling wind, clearing away heat, removing toxin to sooth throat while the latter being treated with detoxication, carbuncles elimination, drainage of pus to sooth throat. As for chronic tonsillitis, it can also be further divided into the syndrome of toxin retained in throat and syndrome of qi deficiency and blood stasis. The method of soothing throat, dispersing swelling, removing toxin to eliminate stagnation should be applied to the former type, while the method of tonifying qi, nourishing yin, activating blood circulation to disperse swelling should be used to the latter type.

2016, 32(1): 90-92.
Abstract:
This paper introduced Professor LUO Songping's experience in treating elderly parturient women with abnormal pregnancy history by following the principal of nourishing the origin in advance. Elderly parturient women with abnormal pregnancy history usually suffer from kidney qi failure, oligomenorrhea, and insufficiency of Chong-Ren. It's difficult for them to be pregnant. If pregnancy occurs, they are likely to have miscarriages. So in clinical practices, methods like tonifying the kidney to strengthen Chong-Ren, nourishing blood to regulate Chong-Ren, dispersing liver and promoting blood circulation to regulate Chong-Ren are often used before the pregnancy. Methods like strengthening the kidney to nourish Yuan and nourishing blood to prevent miscarriage are applied during pregnancy.

2016, 32(1): 93-96.
Abstract:
Disease burden caused by major depression ranks on the top. However, current mainstream western medicine with monoamine-based antidepressants has remarkable limitations, in contrast to the unique efficacy of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Here we reviewed the recent progress in TCM treatment of the disorder, including clinical outcomes, rapid onset of antidepressant response, treatment based on pattern identification of major depression, novel neuropharmacological mechanisms, and antidepressant effects of acupuncture. The clinical and basic research all supported the antidepressant efficacy of TCM, and some with rapid onset. It is suggested that the future research should address the issues of the standardization of treatment based on pattern identification, disease prevention and treatment outcomes using large population, and emphasize the basic research employing systems biology and multidisciplinary collaborative approaches.

2016, 32(1): 97-100.
Abstract:
The "Heterogeneous Restriction” theory comes from the clinical, which is the innovation of the traditional Chinese medicine theory, plays an important role in guiding the clinical application of toxic Chinese medicine. Under the guidance of "Heterogeneous Restriction” theory, in order to clarify the inherent mechanism of the compatibility of Chinese herbal medicine compound prescription, we must clarify the material base of detoxicity effect. Study on the mechanism of detoxicity effect on the basis of the compound prescription of Chinese herbal medicine, we should focus on three approaches: the toxic chemical constituents, the metabolism of toxic components, the correlation between toxic substances and effects. To explore in this field, we must .fully use the latest technology and research methods of modern science, and strengthen a multidisciplinary collaboration.
