Discussion on Professor Xia Guicheng's Academic Thought of Treating Amenorrhea by Regulating Heart
WANG Jing
2015, 31(5): 401-406.
Abstract:
Professor Xia Guicheng put great emphasis on the treating of amenorrhea by regulating heart. He thinks that heat is closely related to amenorrhea. Heart-kidney-uterine plays an important role in menses and its periodic changes. If the balance of heart and spleen is disturbed and the heart qi is blocked, then the heart qi will be stagnated and the uterine vessels will be blocked, which together will cause amenorrhea. According to menstrual cycle and cycle regulating theory, thought amenorrhea may have lasted for a long time, the patients are still in the period of postmenstrual, and they have imbalance of Yin zhang gui shui, or there are other factors together contribute to the severe Yin zhang and it has problem transferring into Yang. Therefore patients have problem having ovulation to expel the eggs. So the treating should focus on postmenstrual period. Tranquilizing mind is of great significance to the treatment. On the basis of yin enriching and kidney nourishing, drugs which can tranquilize the mind should be used and during the same time, doctors should care about patients' emotions and try to help them to be optimistic.

2015, 31(5): 416-419.
Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To explore the acupuncture treatment mechanism of constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome(IBS-C) from the perspective of brain-gut axis, by observing the plasma 5HT, CGRP and NPY level before and after the treatment. METHODS 60 patients with IBS-C were randomly divided into two groups. 30 cases in the acupuncture group(AG) were treated by acupuncture five times a week, with such acupoints as Tianshu, Zusanli, Shangjuxu, Taichong, Sanyinjiao, Yintang, Baihui being selected. The other 30 cases in the medicine group(MG) were treated with lactulose oral solution, 15 ml per time for three times a day. After 4 weeks treatment, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) was used to detect the plasma 5HT, NPY and CGRP level of 30 healthy volunteers and the two treatment groups and observe the improvement of clinical symptoms. RESULTS ①Both groups could significantly improve the clinical symptoms in patients with IBS-C (P<0.01),while the curative effect in the AG was superior to that in the MG (P<0.01). ②The levels of 5-HT, NPY and CGRP in patients with IBS-C of two treatment groups were significantly higher than those in healthy volunteers, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). The plasma 5-HT, NPY and CGRP levels all went down in both groups after treatment, and the differences of 5-HT, NPY and CGRP levels were significant when compared to the levels before treatment in AG(P<0.01). The differences of 5-HT,NPY levels were also significant when compared to the levels before treatment in MG(P<0.01), while there was no significant difference on CGRP(P<0.01). There were no significant differences of 5-HT and NPY levels between these two groups after treatment (P>0.05), but the difference of CGRP was highly statistically significant(P<0.01). The downward trend of 5-HT,NPY and CGRP level was better in the AG. CONCLUSION ①Acupuncture treatment can significantly improve the clinical symptoms in patients with IBS-C, and the theraputic effect is superior to that in the MG. ②The increase of 5-HT, NPY and CGRP level in patients with IBS-C after treatment suggests a close relationship between the abnormal level of brain-gut peptide and IBS syndrome. ③Acupuncture treatment can decrease the plasma levels of 5-HT, NPY and CGRP, alleviate the degree of abdominal pain and discomfort, which indicates that benign regulation of brain-gut peptide level in patients with IBS-C by acupuncture may be one of the effective mechanisms in treatmenting this disease.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To observe the preventive effect of oxaliplatin induced peripheral neuropathy treated by fumigation of Siteng Yixian decoction. METHODS Totally 150 colorectal cancer patients from oncology department Of Hainan provincial hospital of TCM between January 2010 and December 2014 were enrolled in this study. And they were randomized into two groups, with 75 cases in each. The patients in the control group only received oxaliplatin based chemotherapy. While the patients in the treatment group were given the chemotherapy combined with fumigation of Siteng Yixian decoction. The fumigation lasted for forty minutes a time, twice a day. After the treatment of two cycles chemotherapy, the incidence rate and severity classification of peripheral neuropathy was analyzed one month later to evaluate the preventive effect. RESULTS The difference of incidence rate of peripheral neuropathy was significant, with the rate being 18.7% in the treatment group and 56.0% in the control group(P<0.01). The severity classification was evidently higher in the control group(90.37) than those in the treatment group(60.63), and there exised a statistical significance(P<0.05). Among the patients who had second degree peripheral neuropathy or above, the oxaliplatin accumulative dose was (1 054.76±124.6) in the treatment group and (823.47±190.67) in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05). Logistic regression indicated that fumigation of Siteng Yixian decoction was the protective factor for the oxaliplatin-induced peripheral neuropathy. CONCLUSION Fumigation of Siteng Yixian decoction can reduce the incidence rate, decline the severity classification of oxaliplatin-induced peripheral neuropathy and increase the oxaliplatin tolerance dose. It is the independent preventive factor for oxaliplatin-induced peripheral neuropathy.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To explore the effects of Andrographolide on expression of SREBPs and lipid metabolism in HepG2 cells, and to study the possible mechanism. METHODS Cell viability was evaluated by Cell Counting Kit-8; Dual luciferase reporter gene assay was used to test the transcription activity of SREBP; The SREBPs target genes expressions were measured by Quantitative Real-Time PCR; The intracellular triglyceride (TG) and total cholestero l(TC) contents were measured by using commercially available test kits. RESULTS Andrographolide in 0~80 μmol/L concentration range has no effect on HepG2 cell activity; Andrographolide could markly inhibited human SRE promoter activity in a dose-dependent manner, and the mRNA level of SREBPs target genes were significantly downregulated by Andrographolide at the dose of 35 μmol/L. In addition, contents of intracellular cholesterol and triglyceride were significantly suppressed by Andrographolide treatment. CONCLUSION These results suggested that Andrographolide might improve lipid metabolism through downregulating the mRNA levels of SREBPs target genes.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To study the optimum preparation condition of inclusion complexes of resveratrol by ultrasonic method. METHODS The inclusion complexes were prepared by ultrasonic method. The optimum preparation condition was studied by orthogonal test with encapsulation rate as the index of evaluation. RESULTS The optimum preparation condition:the ratio of resveratrol to β-CD is 1∶2,inclusion temperature is 50℃,ultrasonic time is 4 hours, ultrasonic power was 300W. The inclusion of inclusion rate is 44.58%. CONCLUSION The inclusion complexes prepared by ultrasonic method have such advantages:simplicity of operator, condition easily controled, slightly affected by external influence.
