On Eight Principles and Two Principles-Six Essentials
ZHANG Yu
2013, 29(3): 201-204.
Abstract:
Based on the detailed description of the origin, development and maturity of "Eight Principles", this paper pointed that ignoring the logic defects on equally treating the importance of "Eight Principles" yin, yang, exterior, interior, cold, heat, deficiency and excess syndromes would lead to students' confused understanding of the concept of "yin and yang syndrome differentiation" as well as its connotation. It is suggested that the recapitulative and governing status of yin and yang should be emphasized. That is to say, "Two Principles" and "Six Essentials" should be discussed respectively under the chapter named "Eight Principles Syndrome Differentiation" so as to ensure the completeness of "Eight Principles", stress the recapitulative and governing status of yin and yang, and fully reflect the hierarchy of "Two Principles" and "Six Essentials".

YANG Tao, WU Cheng-yu
2013, 29(3): 208-210.
Abstract:
To discuss the correlation between the features of disease location and nature and the basic syndromes of the heart system by fuzzy mathematics. According to five-zang syndrome differentiation system together with "principle of proximity" in fuzzy recognition, MATLAB was used to set up the fuzzy recognition model of the basic syndrome of the heart system to test information about 1741 cases and analyze the correlation in model. The features of disease location and nature and the basic syndrome of the heart system existed fuzzy mapping relation. Most of the correlation can well reflected the features of disease location and nature of the heart system while individual correlation suggested features of mingling disease location and nature. Fuzzy mapping relation between the features of disease location and nature and the basic syndrome of the heart system is imitated effectively by fuzzy mathematics, which can be applied to five-zang syndrome differentiation system and provide a reference for the study of diseases syndrome.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To observe the effect of Radix Astragali on TGF-β1/Smads signaling pathway in epithelial-mesenchymal transition(EMT) of rat peritoneal mesothelial cells induced by high-glucose peritoneal dialysis and explore the inhibitory influence and mechanism of Radix Astragali on peritoneal fibrosis.METHODS They were divided into 2 groups, 10 rats in each. The contrast group's rats were intraperitoneal injected 35days normal saline 20 mL/rat. The model group's rats were intraperitoneal injected 35days Icodextrin 20 mL/rats. The low/middle and high doses astragalus mongholicus groups: After 16 days modeling, the rats were intraperitoneal injected 20 days astragalus mongholicus extraneal(put astragalus mongholicus injections into the externeal, and the concentation of crude drug is 10 mg/mL,20 mg/mL and 40 mg/mL) 20 mL/rats. The peritoneal pathological changes were observed through HE staining; the expressions of abdominal membrane TGF-β1, Collagen I, Collagen III, FN, E-cadherin, α-SMA were examined through rapid immunohistochemical method; the expressions of proteins of peritoneal tissues TGF-β1, E-cadherin, α-SMA, Smad2/3, p-smad2/3, of Smad7 were detected through Westernblot; the expressions of TGF-β1, E-cadherin, α-SMA, Smad7mRNA were detected through RT-PCR.RESULTS ①PMCs in model group were round or oval with cells falling off, subcutaneous matrix proliferating, a large number of fibroblast-like cells and monocytes and macrophage infiltrating, fibrinoid material depositing and the expression of peritoneal tissues TGF-β1, Collagen I, Collagen III and FN increasing. The astragalus intervention groups showed improvement in the above conditions with the high-dose group the most obvious. ②The expression of α -SMA in model group labeled by EMT showed an up-regulation while that of E-cadherin low-regulation. The middle and high doses of Radix Astragali groups could reverse the decrease in expression of E-cadherin in peritoneal tissues and high expression of α-SMA to some extent. ③In model group, the expression of signal proteins p-Smad2/3 and Smad7 showed an up-regulation. Radix Astragali could decease the high expression of p-Smad2/3 in different degrees and strengthen the expression of Samd7 taking the high-dose group as the more significant effect.CONCLUSION High-glucose abdominal dialysis fluid can prompt the occurrence of PMCsEMT while Radix Astragali may inhibit TGF-β1 and effect the key signal proteins Smad2/3 and Smad7 in the positive and negative feedback loop of Smads signal transduction pathways to prevent the occurrence of PMCsEMT.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects of Chuangling liquid and its loaded Collagen on angiogenesis.METHODS Different dosages of Chuangling liquid and its collagen loaded liquid were detected for through the chicken embryo allantois membrane model(CAM) by the optimal effects of angiogenesis. The vascular endothelial cell proliferation experiment (MTT), the migration assay and the protein expression angiogenin1 (Ang1), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and integrin(Integraav) with Western blot method were used for the detection of mechanism.RESULTS The CAM experiments showed that the angiogensis in 0.2 mL and 0.3 mL Chuangling liquid groups were significantly less than that of control group(P<0.05), while there was no significant difference between 0.2 mL and 0.3 mL Chuangling liquid group. This antiangiogenic effects were reversed by the same dosage of Chuangling liquid loading into collagen with their effects reaching to the effects of control group. The 0.2 mL dosage of Chuangling liquid loading into collagen and/or loading into the collagen were chosen for the further experiment. The HUVEC proliferation rate of control group increased 86%, as compared with the group of Chuangling liquidwhich decreased. After loading into collagen, the proliferation rate was increased significantly higher than the results of control group with about 24%(P<0.01). The cell migration movement of 12hours, 24hours in the group of Chuangling liquidwere significantly lower than those in other group. When loading into collagen, cell migration rate began to accelerate and the migration rate significantly faster than that of control group on 24hours(P<0.01); Mechanism detection showed that the protein expressions of Chuangling liquidwith Integraаv was significantly lower than the results of control group, and the higher of Ang1 expression. After loading into collagen, the protein expressions of Integraаv, VEGF and Ang1 were increased significantly.CONCLUSION The study showed that negative effects on vascular endothelial cell migration and proliferation and thus inhibiting angiogenesis. Chuangling liquid loaded into Collagen may reduce the inhibition to angiogensis and be beneficial for blood vessels formation, in order to improve wound healing.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To observe the clinical effects of herbal soaking plus acupuncture and massage therapy in the treatment of shoulder-hand syndrome after cerebral infarction. METHODS 122 cases of shoulder-hand syndrome after cerebral infarction were randomly divided into the treatment group(62 cases) treated with herbal soaking plus acupuncture and massage therapy, and the control group(60 cases) treated with single rehabilitation therapy. After the treatment, observing the clinical effect by Fugl-Meyer, NPS, Ashworth, SAS, SDS as well as SS-QOL scores, thus evaluating the life qualities of patients. RESULTS Compared with pre-treatment, clinical effects of the two groups were remarkable to different degrees. Motor function of upper limb had improved (P<0.05, P<0.01). Symptoms (including pain and spasm of upper limb) were relieved and cognitive function as well as SS-QOD scores were improved (P<0.05, P<0.01). In terms of curative effect, the treatment group was superior to the control group. CONCLUSION Herbal soaking plus acupuncture and massage therapy can improve the curative effect of shoulder-hand syndrome after cerebral infarction.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE The study investigates the mechanism of the inflammatory factors of the atherosclerosis' (AS) plaques of experimental rabbit models by therapy of tonifying the kidney and activating blood and dissipating phlegm, and to discuss the advantages of combination of TCM with western medicine in the treatment of AS.METHODS The study selected 40 healthy male purebred rabbits of New Zealand, 2 weeks after feeding observation adaptability, all rabbits were randomly divided into 4 groups, Model Group(MG),Traditional Chinese Medicine Group (TCMG),West Medicine Group(WMG), Zhong Xi Group(ZXG).After the treatment, three treatment groups' rabbits were observed on the levels of the blood lipid and lipoprotein, and five serum inflammatory factors(including Fg,hs-CRP,IL-18,MCP-1,MMP-9).RESULTS Compared between each treatment groups, with MG, the level of the five inflammatory factors of the three treatment groups declined significantly(P<0.01).The group of ZXG was superior to the groups of TCMG and WMG in decreasing the level of five inflammatory factors(P<0.01).And compared with TCMG, the group of WMG was superior to the TCMG in decreasing the level of the hs-CRP(P<0.05),but the other four indicators had no differences(P>0.05).CONCLUSION The therapy of tonifying the kidney and activating blood and dissipating phlegm combined with the Atorvastatin calcium may be superior to the groups of TCMG and WMG in decreasing the levels of five inflammatory factors. We can infer that the levels of inflammatory factors may be a important element to decide plaque vulnerability.
