Primary Exploration of the Syndrome Differentiation and Treatment of Pestilence Based on Yunqi Theory

Abstract:
This paper is to reveal the application laws and value of Yunqi theory in the prevention and treatment of pestilence and to discover the thoughts and methods of the ancient Chinese medicine doctors in the prevention and treatment of pestilence by applying Yunqi theory. This paper explains the scientificalness of pestilence Yunqi theory which is based on the holism of heaven, earth and human, and analyzes the basic types of pestilence and typical formula. It is considered that the modern research orientation of the prevention and treatment of pestilence by applying Yunqi theory is: the Yunqi theory and laws of the pestilence occurence from the perspective of astrometeorology-time-geography-space-time medicine.
Considerations about introducing epigenetics into Chinese acupuncture research

Abstract:
Epigenetics is the study of heritable changes in genes and gene expression that do not involve DNA nucleotide sequences. It emphasizes that the information of gene regulation can interact through the ways of multi-channel and multi-level, and it is reversible. The therapeutic effects of acupuncture is based on the suitable rules includes principles, methods, formulas, medicinals and manipulation, which also reflect the characteristics of entirety, comprehensive, bidirectional and functional regulation. But the mechanism is unclear, which need further research. Then, the introduction of epigenetics into acupuncture research will be valuable attempt, which including DNA methylation, covalent modification, chromatin remodeling, microRNA and so on. The studies will be helpful for explain the material basis of principles, methods, formulas, medicinals and manipulation, and also will provide new ideas for exploring objective indicators of them. The research results will be useful for guiding the acupuncture clinic and improving the clinical efficacy.
Defensive Qi: the Key to Distinguishing Pathogenesis of Fear of Cold and Aversion to Cold

Abstract:
Through the analysis of concepts of fear of cold and aversion to cold in medical books of past dynasties, it was found that with aversion to cold, referring to all cold symptoms initially, fear of cold partly meaned exogenous cold (Song Dynasty)and fear of cold and aversion became confused (Ming and Qing Dynasty). In the diagnostics of traditional Chinese medicine textbook of higher education, fear of cold and aversion to cold are kept carefully separated. Aversion to cold stands for exogenous cold, while fear of cold refers to endogenous cold with the differentiation of whether warming or close to heat can release coldness, which undoubtedly plays a certain role in clinical diagnosis. However, the author believes this may lead to negligence to the mechanism of cold symptoms, especially for new learners and result in misdiagnosis of some miscellaneous diseases. Therefore, the author put forward that the key to distinguishing fear of cold and aversion to cold is the defensive qi by judging whether it is weak or stagnant.
Exploration on Compatibility of Formula Treating on Tumor

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To analyze the relationships between the single drugs or the couplet medicines of the antitumor formula in Dictionary of Chinese Formula by using the association rules. MOTHODS 587 antitumor formula were collected and the relationship between single drugs and couplet medicines were analyzed by the frequent pattern and Apriori arithmetic. RESULTS Most of the drugs in antitumor formula have the functions of promoting blood circulation by removing blood stasis or promoting qi circulation and relieving pain, like Sanleng(Rhizoma Sparganii), Ezhu(Rhizoma Curcumae), Muxiang(Radix Aucklandiae), Chenpi(Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae). CONCLUSION The drugs in the antitumor formula are combined used and mainly have the function of promoting blood circulation by removing blood stasis and promoting qi circulation and relieving pain. In base of this, tonifying qi and strengthening spleen, warming yang and resolving phlegm and masses drugs are also used.

Abstract:
Infertility is one of the common, difficult and complicated gynecological disease. 108 prescription were collected and analyzed by the methods of frequence statistics and factor analysis. The usage methods and the TCM principle of treating infertility were also exploded, and new approach was supplied for its treatment. The conclusion shows the doctors in Ming and Qing dynasties were paying much attention on the physical character of female, and they were good at harmonizing the kidney, liver and spleen. They were using a lot of tonifying medicines, trying to protect qi and blood, especially using the methods of warming-tonifying and warming-smoothing.
Clinical Research on XinshuaiⅠfor Chronic Systolic Heart Failure

Abstract:
OBECTIVE To observe and evaluate the curative effects of XinshuaiⅠwith the function of replenishing qi and nourishing yin, activating blood circulation and resolving phlegm on chronic systolic heart failure (CHF). METHODS 120 cases with CHF were randomized into treatment group (60 cases) and control group (60 cases). The treatment group were given XinshuaiⅠadministration on the basis of western medicine treatment, 1 package per day for twice use; the control group given XinshuaiⅠplacebo, 1 package per day for twice use, 4 weeks as 1 treatment course, 6 treatment courses as the observation period. The changes of symptoms, life quality score, brain natriuretic peptide (BNP), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), 6min walking test (6MWT) and comprehensive effects of 2 groups were compared. RESULTS Significant difference of the symptoms, comprehensive effects, BNP, LVEF, 6MWT appeared before and after the treatment (P<0.05). The overall response rate of the treatment group is 67.24% while that of the control group is 45.61% and the treatment group was better than the control group(P<0.05). During the treatment period, no adverse reaction appeared in both 2 groups. CONCLUSION XinshuaiⅠis safe and effective for the long-term treatment of CHF.
Clinical Research on the Removing the Necrotic Tissue Effect of Shengji Yuhong Plaster treating on Chronic Ulcer of leg

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the function of Shengji Yuhong Plaster treating on the wound surface necrosis secret of chronic ulcer of leg by double blind, random and contrast research. METHODS 257 chronic-ulcer-of-leg patients were divided into experimental group and control group noncentral-random-doubled. Standard clinical pathway of leg wound surface was made, and the clinical quantified integral change data of the pus rot secretion and the wound area were recorded. The data were transported to the third party data authority by clinical researcher. RESULTS Uncover the blind random grouping, the result shows the two groups were divided fairly on the parts of sex, course of disease, pathogen, location and wound area. Compare the necrotic tissue dropping off, the experimental group are much lower than the contrast group, and from the 14d till the end, the treatment effect of the experimental group could reach 1.4 times of the contrast group(P<0.01).The improvement of the experimental group's texture, color, odor, nature and amount of the wound secretion are better than the contrast group. The release of the pain of the experimental group patients are much better(P<0.01). The wound surface infection of pesudomonas aeruginosa and other unclassified bacteria of the experimental group are substantial reduced(P<0.05). Three days after treatment, the wound healing rate of the experimental group is much higher than the contrast group(P<0.01). At the end of the treatment, the average healing rate of the experimental group is around 80%, and the contrast group is about 30%. CONCLUSION Shengji Yuhong Plaster can improve the healing of the wound by the function of eliminating necrotic tissues and promoting granulation.
Observation on the Clinical Efficacy of Clearing Lung and Eliminating Phlegm Method Treating on COPD

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To observe the clinical efficacy of the basic clearing lung and eliminating phlegm prescription treating on the acute exacerbation phlegm-heat obstructing lung syndrome of COPD, and the influence on the pulmonary function and carbon dioxide retention. METHODS 64 cases, which were chose according the selected standard, were even-randomly divided into treatment group and control group. The control group were given western conventional therapy, and on the base, treatment group were add Qingfei Huatan Granule(a kind of TCM granule without decoct), and 2 weeks were one course. Then compare the clinical syndrome, lung function and blood gas analysis. RESULTS The treatment group are better than the control group on treating the clinical syndrome, physical sign, lung function and carbon dioxide retention(P<0.05). CONCLUSION Qingfei Huatan Granule has a good effect on treating the phlegm-heat obstructing lung syndrome of COPD. The prescription can improve the clinical symptoms and lung function, relieve the carbon dioxide retention and improve the quality of life.
Effect of Catgut Implantation at Acupoint on the Chronic Uveitis patients' T-lymphocyte Subpopulation

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To observe the effect of combined use of catgut implantation at acupoint and traditional Chinese drugs and western drugs on the recurrent attacks chronic uveitis patients' CD3+, CD4+,CD8+ and CD4+ /CD8+. METHODS 20 cases chronic uveitis patients were randomly put into two even groups: the treatment group combined use catgut implantation at acupoint and traditional Chinese drugs and western drugs, and the contrast group use traditional Chinese drugs and western drugs. Then the changes of CD3+, CD4+, CD8+ cell and CD4+ /CD8+ of the two groups were tested. RESULTS Both the two groups have significant changes on TcellCD3+(P<0.01), and the two groups have no significant differences(P>0.05). Both the two groups have significant changes on ThcellCD4+(P<0.01), and the treatment group are better than the contrast group(P<0.01). Both the two groups have significant changes on TscellCD8+(P<0.01), and the treatment group are better than the contrast group(P<0.01). Both the two groups have significant changes on CD4+ /CD8+(P<0.05), and the contrast group have significant changes on CD4+ /CD8+(P<0.05). CONCLUSION Catgut implantation at acupoint can improve the chronic uveitis patients'T-lymphocyte subpopulation, and furthermore improve the function of immune system.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To undertake clinic investigation into the infection rate, season, age, area of children's acute upper respiratory tract infection caused by parainfluenza virus in clinic and to study treatment based on syndrome differentiation by TCM patent medicine. METHODS We collected 1090 cases with children's acute upper respiratory tract infection in the city of Ji`an, Shenyang and Nanjing from April 2009 to January 2011, of which 973 remained after falling off and rejecting. After syndrome differentiation, they were divided into two groups through center stratiform and interval. The control group (487 cases) were given ribavirin; while the treatment group were administrated by TCM patent medicine for three days as a course. The parainfluenza virus was detected to observe the therapeutic effect of the patent medicine and its related influential factors. RESULTS The infection rate of this virus was 5.65%, spring is the season with high concurrency, the city of Nanjing and Ji`nan are the highly infection area, and also the infection of parainfluenza virus is not confined to one type. CONCLUSION Parainfluenza virus is one of the most common viruses causing children's acute upper respiratory tract infection; the infection rate is of a close relation with season and location; treatment based on syndrome differentiation by TCM patent medicine is stable and feasible.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To study the inflammation hypothesis of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). PCOS is a common clinical endocrine disorder syndrome associated with reproductive dysfunction and abnormal glucose metabolism whose inflammation hypothesis is becoming the focus recently.METHODS This paper studied the function of IL-18 in the process of PCOS through the effect of IL-18 on the key enzyme and androgen activity associated with secretion and synthesis of theca cell androstenedione and 17-hydroxy progesterone. Moreover, it investigated the interference of Qinghua Yure Fang containing serum on PCOS.RESULTS IL-18 promoted the proliferation of theca cells and the secretion of androstenedione and 17-hydroxy progesterone by comparing with the control group (0 pg/mL).The Westernblot and PCR showed IL-18 increased the expression of CYP11A1 and CYP17A1 which were the key enzyme associated with synthesis of theca cell androstenedione and 17-hydroxy progesterone. And IL-18 improved the expression of androgen receptor protein. Qinghua Yure Fang containing serum decreased the secretion of ovarian theca cell androgen and the activity of related synthesis key enzyme and androgen receptor AR.CONCLUSION IL-18 is involved in PCOS caused by chronic inflammation and Qinghua Yure Fang containing serum has certain intervention on PCOS.
Effects of Basil Capsules on Expressions of VEGF and Bcl-2 for Transplanted Liver Cancer in rats after TACE

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To observe the effects of Basil capsules on expressions of VEGF and Bcl-2 for transplanted liver cancer in rats after transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) and to research the influence and significance of Basil capsules on hypoxia environment after TACE of rats hepatoma.METHODS Transplanted hepatoma models of rats were established. Ten days later, the successful models were divided into five groups randomly. The group with TACE and saline (A),group with TACE and high-dose Basil capsules (B), group with TACE and moderate-dose Basil capsules (C),group with TACE and low-dose Basil capsules (D) were injected with 10 mL/kg/d saline, 300 mg/kg/d/ Luole capsule, 150 mg/kg/d Basil capsule and 75 mg/kg/d Basil capsules respectively. The fifth group (E) as control group was operated just with laparotomy. After ten days of administration, the pathological specimen of transplanted liver cancer was taken out and the expressions of VEGF and Bcl-2 in tumor tissues were detected through immunohistochemistry.RESULTS As for the tumor weight, group A, B, C and D were obviously smaller than that of group E (P<0.01,P<0.05); group B was remarkably lighter than that of group A (P<0.05). As for the positive expression rate of VEGF and Bcl-2, both group A and E obviously increased (P<0.01);groups B, C and D visibly deceased compared with that of group A(P<0.01); groups B was remarkably lower than those of groups D and E (P<0.01,P<0.05). CONCLUSION Basil capsules can improve hypoxia environment in the local part of rat hepatoma, promote cell apoptosis, depress the expression of VEGF and Bcl-2 and inhibit the invasion and metastasis of tumor after TACE.
Qingchang Huashi Fang's Influence on the Tight Junction Claudin-1 of the Colonic Mucosa Epithelial Cells Experimental Ulcerative Colitis Rats

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To observe possible mechanism of the Qingchang Huashi Fang's therapeutic effect on Ulcerative Colitis(UC), through observing the expression level of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α) and claudin-1 of mucosal tissue in the experimental colitis rats. METHODS Rats successfully modeled with TNBS/anhydrous alcohol were divided into blank, model, Qichang Huashi Fang(12.8 g crude drug/kg/d) and Mesalazine group(0.67 g/kg/d). Single administration for 10 days successively, all groups of rats were executed to collect colon tissues cut out for related inspections. Using ELISA method to measure the TNF-α concentration of the colon tissues. The expression of claudin-1 protein in colonic epithelium was checked up with immunohistochemical method and relative expression of claudin-1 mRNA with real-time PCR method.RESULTS The TNF-α(pg/mL) concentration of model group and Qichang Huashi Fang group are respectively 99.40±32.37 and 55.07±12.80(P<0.01);And claudin-1 gene relative expression levels are respectively 2.18±0.78 and 3.94±0.91(P<0.01);Qichang Huashi decoction can decrease TNF-aconcentration and increase claudin-1 mRNA relative expression significantly(P<0.01), thus reducing claudin-1 protein damage(P<0.05). The curative effect between Qichang Huashi Fang and Mesalazine group has no significant difference. CONCLUSION Qichang Huashi Fang can decrease TNF-α concentration and protect tight junction protein claudin-1. That is the one of the mechanisms of Qichang Huashi Fang to treat UC.
The Effect of Xuanbai Chengqi Decoction on LBP and TLR4 mRNA Expressions in Acute Lung Injured Rat Model

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effects of Xuanbai Chengqi (XBCQ) Decoction on lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP) and toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) mRNA expressions in lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induced acute-lung-injured rat model.METHODS 32 healthy Wistar male rats were randomly divided into 4 groups: normal group, model group, dexamethasone group and XBCQ group. Each group had 8 rats. LPS (6 mg/kg) was injected into the model group and each treatment group to copy ALI animal model. The normal group and model group were given the same volume of physiological saline. The dosage of dexamethasone group was 5mg/kg ip. The dosage of XBCQ group was 7 560 mg/kg ig. The LBP and TLR4 mRNA expressions of lung tissue were measured by real time fluorescence quantitative pcr (RT-PCR). Protein expressions of TLR4 in lung tissue were measured by ismmunohistochemical method. The pathological manifestation of the lung tissue was observed.RESULTS Compared with normal group,the bronchus LBP mRNA of model group and expressions of TLR4 mRNA and staining positive cell area occupation ratio of protein were greatly increased in the model group (P<0.05). Compared with the model group, expressions of TLR4 mRNA and protein were decreased in XBCQ group (P<0.05). Light microscope indicated large areas of pulmonary hemorrhage and necrosis in model group. The pathological changes of XBCQ group were less than the model group. The interstitial inflammation of bronchiole was slight.CONCLUSION XBCQ Decoction can lessen the lung tissue injury of rat caused by endotoxin and has protective effects on lung injury. The mechanism is possibly related to the inhibition of the expressions of TLR4 mRNA and protein in injured lung tissues.
Danggui Yinzi's Effect on the Related Cytokines Abnormally Secreted by T cells of Chronic Urticaria belonging to Qi and Blood Deficiency Syndrome

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To study the therapeutic mechanism of Danggui Yinzi on chronic urticaria belonging to qi and blood deficiency syndrome.METHODS KM mice with equal number of male and female were given reserpine and acetophenone hydrazine to duplicate the model of qi and blood deficiency syndrome, and joint type IV allergic reaction imitated urticaria model. The successful models were selected and randomly divided into model group, loratadine group, high dose of modified Danggui Yinzi group, middle dose of modified Danggui yinZi group and low dose of modified Danggui Yinzi group, 8 animals for each, the rest 8 were taken only as control group. At the end of experiment, blood was taken from orbit of animals of each group, lens detected peripheral eosinophil (EOS) change after serum separation; serum IgE content was tested by ELISA; the expression quantity of hemal wall organization IL-4, IFN-γ was tested by immunohistochemical detection through cutting vascular wall organization.RESULTS Compared with the model group, Danggui Yinzi can significantly reduce the animal peripheral eosinophil in every dose group (P<0.01); It can reduce serum IgE content (P<0.01); It can reduce hemal wall organization IL-4(P<0.01), It also can elevated IFN-V expression (P<0.01).CONCLUSION Danggui Yinzi can inhibit urticaria through intervening abnormal secretion of related cytokines in T cells.
Discussion on the Factors Affect Pathogenic Changes of ApoE-/- Mice Artery

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To explore the effect of different fat and cholesterol feedstuff on the ApoE-/- mice atherosclerosis.METHODS Eight 6-week old mice were randomly put into two even groups. The High fat and cholesterol group (H group) were given 21% fat, 1.25% cholesterol feedstuff for 14 weeks, and the Middle fat and cholesterol group (M group) were given 10% fat for 14 weeks. Then observe the changes of blood biochemistry, Lee's index, and body fat percentage and Artery pathological section.RESULTS The results shows H group and M group have not much difference on the blood biochemistry, Lee's index, body fat percentage and Artery pathological section. Both the routine HE dyeing section, oil red O staining show the H group and M group were in atherosclerosis fatty streak period, and a lot of macrophage macrophage foam cells were expressed in the plague, a large amount of necrotic corn and cholesterol crystals were existed. H group had arterial aneurysm in the aortic sinus, and M group had arterial aneurysm in the aorta abdominalis, and the cholesterol crystals in the H group are much more than the M group.CONCLUSION Both the two groups of different fat and cholesterol feedstuff have effect on the ApoE-/- mice atherosclerosis, but the influence is not that much.
Experimental Study on Jinxin Oral Liquid Different Chemical Components Oppressing Respiratory Syncytial Virus

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To observe the effect of Jinxin Oral Liquid (JOL) different chemical components on respiratory syncytial virus (RSV).METHODS The mice pneumonia models were set up through nasal drops with RSV, which were randomly divided into normal control group, model control group, ribavirin group, JOL group, petroleum ether extract group, ethyl acetate extract group, N-butanol extract group and mother liquor group. The condition of the inflammatory lesion in lung tissues was observed under light microscope. Pulmonary index and pulmonary index inhibition rate, spleen index, thymus index and death protection rate were calculated.RESULTS Petroleum ether extract, ethyl acetate extract and n-butanol extract of JOL remarkably decreased pulmonary index of mice infected with RSV (P<0.01) and reduced the inflammatory lesions in lung tissues; meanwhile, increased spleen index and thymus index (P<0.01). N-butanol extract of JOL reduced the death rate of mice infected with RSV. CONCLUSION Petroleum ether extract, ethyl acetate extract and n-butanol extract of JOL have a certain inhibitory effect on RSV, and can improve the immune function of mice infected with RSV. N-butanol extract of JOL can make certain death protection for mice with RSV.
Comparision on Analgesic and Anti-inflammatory Actions of the Extracts from Different Parts of Smilax Microphylla

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To study and compare the analgesic and anti-inflammatory actions of the extracts from different parts of smilax microphylla.METHODS Experiments, such as mice ear engorgement induced by dimethyl benzene and swelling of feet in rats induced by albumen and twisting response of mice induced by acetic acid method, were performed to study the pharmacological actions of analgesic and anti-inflammatory.RESULTS Smilax microphylla ethanol extract, petroleum ether and ethyl acetate extract could reduce mice ear engorgement induced by dimethyl benzene and swelling of feet in rats induced by albumen, especially ethyl acetate extract for its significant effects. The ethanol extract and ethyl acetate extract induced the number of the twisting response of mice obviously.CONCLUSION Smilax microphylla ethanol extract shows anti-inflammatory and analgesic actions and the effect of the extracted ethyl acetate extract is the most significant.
Study on ACE-inhibitory and Antioxidant Activities of Mactra veneriformis Enzymatic Hydrolysis Peptides

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To evaluate the ACE-inhibitory and antioxidant activities of Mactra veneriformis enzymatic hydrolysis peptides. METHODS Pepsin and trypsin were used to simulate enzymatic process in vivo,and then enzymatic hydrolysis peptides of Mactra veneriformis were obtained. The ACE inhibitory activity of Mactra veneriformis enzymatic hydrolysis peptides was measured by high performance liquid chromatography, and the radical scavenging effect was detected by Fenton system. RESULTS Mactra veneriformis enzymatic hydrolysis peptides was obtained by enzymatic hydrolysis of trypsin for 6h,which ACE-inhibitory activity of enzymatic hydrolysis peptides is the best, IC50=15.06 μg/mL. The best rate of hydroxyl radical scavenging of Mactra veneriformis enzymatic hydrolysis peptides is 93.78%,which was obtained by trypsin used for 2 h.CONCLUSION Mactra veneriformis enzymatic hydrolysis peptides have a definite ACE-inhibitory and antioxidant activity.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To analyze the content changes of heterophyllin A (HA) and B (HB) in Radix Pseudostellariae from different habitats, regions and harvest time, and to provide the basic information for exploring the quality forming process of Radix Pseudostellariae.METHODS The content of HA and HB was determined by RP-HPLC.RESULTS The contents of HA and HB in Radix Pseudostellariae from different habitats, regions and harvest time were variable. Dynamic change of HA and HB in Radix Pseudostellariae in different harvest time showed a regular pattern.CONCLUSION There are correlative differences between the content and the ratio of HA and HB in Radix Pseudostellariae from different habitats. The total amount of HA and HB is the highest in the traditional harvest time.
Effects of Hedyotis Diffusa Continuous Cropping on the Number of Edaphon

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE With soils from the field which has been planted no hedyotis diffusa, planted hedyotis diffusa once and planted hedyotis diffusa twice as the objects of study, this paper aims to analyze the effects of hedyotis diffusa continuous copping on the soil nutrient and the number of edaphon.METHODS The number of bacteria, fungi and actinomycetes in soils were assayed with nutrient agar medium, rose Bengal agar medium and Gause's agar medium respectively.RESULTS The planting of Hedyotis diffusa increased the number of edaphon in soil, especially in rhizosphere, and showed rhizosphere effect. However, continuous cropping of Hedyotis diffusa decreased the number of bacteria and actinomycetes in soil, while increased the number of fungi.CONCLUSION Hedyotis diffusa continuous cropping affects the balance of microbial community structure in soil.
Preparation of Cyclodextrin Inclusion Compound of Volatile Oil in Jiawei Zexie Fang and Study on its Effect of Transdermal Diffusion

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To prepare cyclodextrin inclusion compound of volatile oil in Jiawei Zexie Fang and study its transdermal diffusion effect. METHODS Use saturated aqueous solution method and grinding method to prepare cyclodextrin inclusion compound of volatile oil respectively. The inclusion rate and drug loading were determined by HPLC. The appearance, stability, in vitro release and in vitro transdermal experiments were investigated.RESULTS The vitro transdermal delivery experiment showed that drug cumulative release of inclusion compound were lower than volatile oil/soluble starch control group in 24h and the order of drug release was as following, volatile oil/HP-β-cyclodextrin inclusion complex>volatile oil/DM-β-cyclodextrin inclusion complex>volatile oil/β-cyclodextrin inclusion complex, which was contrary to the order of the inclusion compound stability study.CONCLUSION The volatile oil/cyclodextrin inclusion compound can delay the release of volatile oil extracted from Jiawei Zexie Fang.
Study on HPLC Fingerprint of Gansu Geoherbs Rheum palmatum

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To establish HPLC fingerprint of Rheum palmatum from Gansu and provide a reliable method for its scientific evaluation and quality control.METHODS The main components were separated on a Agela Venusil XBP-C18 (4.6 mm×250 mm, 5 μm) column and detected at 254 nm by gradient elution at the flow rate of 1.0 mL/min using acetonitrile-0.1% phosphoric acid as the mobile phase. Column temperature was at 40 ℃.RESULTS The main components of the samples harvested from 8 locations at Li County of Gansu were successfully and effectively separated and 26 peaks could be found from all chromatograms. 5 major peaks were identified based on the comparison with reference substances.CONCLUSION The method can be used for quality control and provide a valuable reference for Good Agriculture Practice of Rheum palmatum.
