2007, 23(4)
Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To demonstrate the correlation between the transformation of syndromes of chronic rhinitis and the expression of the nose mucous membrane p38MAPK. METHOD Each sample was stained with p38MAPK and microscope was used to observe the distribution of the positive cells and calculate the average. The results were analyzed with the computer software SPSS 8.0 for windows. RESULT The transformation from the qi deficiency syndrome to the blood stasis syndrome was found to be directly correlated with p38MAPK expression. CONCLUSION During the process of transformation from the qi deficiency syndrome to the blood stasis syndrome, p38MAPK is one of the important factors.

2007, 23(4): 220-223.
Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To observe the effect of the Chinese drug Langchuangjing Granule in the treatment of the syndrome of kidney deficiency with damp toxin in patients with active lupus nephritis(LN).METHOD Forty LN patients were divided into a treatment group of 22 patients(treated with western medicine and Langchuangjing Granule) and a control group of 18 patients(treated with western medicine only) and were treated for 12 weeks.RESULT Good effect was obtained in relieving albuminuria in the patients with a level of <3.5g/24 h after the 8th day,and hematuria and SLEDAI integral started to be reduced markedly since the 4th week, with statistical significance between the two groups(P<0.05).Kidney function was improved.Better effect was obtained in the treatment group in relieving skin red patches, lumbago, palpitation caused by hormone and tremor of the hand (P<0.05).CONCLUSION Based on the immunity inhibition treatment with western medicine,Langchuangjing Granule is effective in controlling the condition of LN,relieving the clinical symptoms, reducing the side effect of western medicines, relieving albuminuria and hematuria, and improving the kidney function.

2007, 23(4): 228-230.
Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate into the expression of BIRC3 in common tongue coatings. METHOD Scan array and fluorescent quantitation PCR technique were used to examine the expression of BIRC3 mRNA on tongue Mucosa of patients with tongue cancer. RESULT There were marked differences in the expression of BIRC3 mRNA of different tongue coatings. CONCLUSION Great differences exist in the expression of the tongue epithelial cell BIRC3, which is closely related to the formation of different types of tongue coatings.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To examine the absorption dynamics of the active components of Tongsaimai Micro-pellet at different portions of the intestine and the absorption differences between micro-pellet and the standard drug and evaluate the rationality of this preparation. METHOD In vivo experiment was used to observe the absorption in rat small intestine.RESULT The active components of Tongsaimai Micro - pellet were well absorbed at different portions of the intestine, with no specific absorption locations. Different concentrations of the solution did not affect the absorption of liquirtin, ferulaic acid and ammonium glycyrrhizinate, but affected the absorption of cinnamic acid. CONCLUSION The liquirtin, ammonium glycyrrhizinate and cinnamic acid in the standard drug are absorbed faster than those in the micro-pellet, but no marked differences were detected in the absorption of ferulaic acid, suggesting the enduring effect of micro-pellets.

2007, 23(4): 247-249.
Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate into the effect of Semen Sinapis Albae Liniment in the treatment of guinea pig asthma, compared with traditional preparations. METHOD Egg albumen was used to create guinea pig asthma models. Semen Sinapis Albae Liniment produced with modem pharmacological methods was applied to the back of the guinea pigs. RESULT The liniment eould markedly prolong asthma incubation period, relieve the severity of asthma attaek, shorten the duration of asthma and improve the pathological state of the lung tissue. However, the traditional preparations were superior to the liniment in the initial inducement of the ineubation period of asthma attack. CONCLUSION Semen Sinapis Albae Liniment has good effect in preventing and eontrolling the attack of experimental asthma and reducing the severity of the attaek. Though further researches are necessary, it already shows its advantages in the preparation form, which are worth studying and applying.

2007, 23(4): 255-258.
Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To observe and confirm the therapeutic effect of acupuncture point injection in the treatment of chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG).METHOD Comparisons and analyses were made on the clinical symptoms, results of gastroscope and the pathological conditions of the injection group and the control group treated with Weifuchun, using standard tables.RESULT Acupuncture point injection had markedly better effect in treating a number of clinical symptoms like gastralgia, abdominal pain, etc.,with great differences as compared with the control group.CONCLUSION Acupuncture point injection is an effective method in the treatment of CAG,economical, safe and simple for spreading.
On Professor HAN Shu-ren''''s View of "Asthma Specially due to Wind"
TAN Ou, WANG De-jun
2007, 23(4): 259-261.
Abstract:
This paper presents professor HAN Shu-ren's unique view of "Asthma Specially due to Wind".By careful analysis of the symptoms and syndromes of asthma, professor HAN holds that the severity of asthma attack varies from person to person, the syndromes are divided into cold and heat syndromes and during the remission period, deficiency of the lung, spleen and kidney may occur differently in different patients.Nevertheless, treatment should be focused on "wind",and this idea has provided new thoughts for clinical work.

SHAN Jin-jun, DI Liu-qing, WU Hao
2007, 23(4): 270-272.
Abstract:
This paper deals with the experimental methods and features with oral absorption models and the application of these methods in recent years. The authors believe that the research in oral absorption of Chinese drugs can not only provide scientific bases for plans of the Chinese drug oral preparation forms and quality control, but also scientifically enunciate the regularities in drug combination in compound prescriptions, thus providing useful exploration for the modemization of Chinese medicine and pharmacology.
