2006, 22(3): 137-139.
Abstract:
The mixed stasis-heat syndrome occurs at a certain stage of development of acute exogenous febrile diseases or internal miscellaneous diseases, when heat, toxin and phlegm-dampness accumulate in the blood system, causing the formation of blood heat and blood stasis, which combine to form a special syndrome. The syndrome is caused by heat and toxin and is located deeply in the ying system and collaterals, manifested by damage to the zang-fu organs, and therefore should be treated by cooling blood and removing blood stasis. The authors carried out theoretical, clinical and experimental studies systematically on the stasis heat and water retention syndrome of patients with epidemic hemorrhagic fever and acute renal failure, stasis heat and jaundice syndrome of serious hepatitis patients, stasis heat and blood extravasation syndrome of hemorrhagic disease patients, syndrome of stasis heat blocking the orifice of hemorrhagic apoplexy patients and excessive heat and blood stasis syndrome of patients with hyperlipemia patients, which shows the feature of considering "syndromes" as the core in TCM research.

2006, 22(3): 140-142.
Abstract:
Based on repeated exploration on the treatment of tumors, the authors has put forward the "dissipative pathogenesis hypothesis" and the consolidation method in the treatment of tumors."Dissipative pathogenesis hypothesis" is no doubt an innovation over the TCM theories on cancer treatment, which reveals the nature of the pathogenesis of tumor,i.e.the dissipation and deficiency of anti-pathogenic factors, and at the same time the liability in metabasis of the cancer toxins. This also reveals the underlying relationship among cancer cells, man and nature. The consolidation method is the result of the clinical application of the "dissipative pathogenesis hypothesis".The study suggested that the consolidation method can effectively improve the life quality of cancer patients, markedly prolong their survival period and reduce the toxic side effect of radiotherapy and chemotherapy.Experimental studies have also indicated that the consolidation method can effectively promote immunity, inhibit tumor growth, prevent metastasis and recurrence of tumors and markedly inhibit the growth of hamartoma.

2006, 22(3): 147-149.
Abstract:
This paper presents an exploration of the etiology of chronic obstruct ive lung diseases. The authors believe the main etiology lies in excess in the u pper part and deficiency in the lower part and the basis for the pathological changes lies in poor immunity. Both obstruction of qi in the chest and weak pulse at yang but stringy pulse at yin are closely related to the etiology, with the m ain syndrome of obstruction thoracic yang.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate into the effect of the injection on the treatment of lung and stomach cancer.METHOD 95 patients were randomly divided into a bee venom group,a combined treatment group(bee venom and chemotherapy) and a chemotherapy group,to observe the effect of the injection in improving clinical symptoms and life quality.RESULT The remittance rate and disease control rate of the injection were 2.86% and 40% respectively, with no statistical significance among the three groups(P>0.0%).The symptom improvement rates of the three groups were 42.86%,75.43% and 43.33% respectively, with statistical significance(P<0.05).No marked differences were found in life quality improvement among the three groups(P>0.0%).CONCLUSION Bee Venom Injection can inhibit the tumor growth. It has anti-cancer effect and can greatly improve clinical symptoms when used in combination with chemotherapy.

2006, 22(3): 162-164.
Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To observe the mechanism of Xuemaitong Granule on cervical artherosclerosis.METHOD Doppler ultrasound technique was adopted to choose 77 cervical artherosclerosis patients from those with hypertension or hyperlipemia, which were divided randomly into a treatment group and a control group, treated with Xuemaitong Granule(10 grams at a time, three times daily) and Simvastatin(20 mg/qn) respectively for 6 months.RESULT In both groups, the thickening of the middle layer of cervical endarterium did not develop further and the plaques were resolved, but with no marked difference as compared with the conditions before the treatment. In the treatment group,TG,LPa,ox-LDL,SOD,MDA and MMP-1 dropped greatly and HDL-C increased greatly, with marked statistical significance. No undesirable reactions were found in both groups.CONCLUSION Xuemaitong Graunle can effectively control blood lipid, improve the function of blood vessel endodermis and prevent the development of the plaques.

2006, 22(3): 168-170.
Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To compare between the effect of crude Radix Dioscoreae Oppositae and the water extract of the drug stir-baked with bran at different polarities on the gastrointestinal function of mice with spleen deficiency.METHOD Gastric emptying method and intestinal propelling method were used in the comparison.RESULT The water extract of stir-baked Radix Dioscoreae Oppositae at the location of dichlormethane had better effect in inhibiting mice gastric emptying and intestinal propelling than the crude drug.CONCLUSION The result of the study indicates that the effective component of stir-baked Radix Dioscoreae Oppositae might exist at the low polarity part of its water extract. This study has laid the theoretical foundation for further investigation on the mechanism of the preparation of stir-baked Radix Dioscoreae Oppositae.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate into the effect of Compound Bulbus Allii Macrostemi Capsule on the pathology of arteriole, right ventricle and lung tissue of rats with hypertension induced by monocrotaline(MCT).METHOD 84 SD(Sprague-Dawley) rats were randomly divided into 7 groups: a normal group of 10 rats,a model group of 14 rats,a Guilong Kechuanning group of 12 rats,a methylprednisolone group of 12 rats,a captopril group of 12 rats,a Compound Bulbus Allii Macrostemi Capsule high dosage group of 12 rats and a Compound Bulbus Allii Macrostemi Capsule low dosage group of 12 rats.Peritoneal monocrotaline injection(60 mg/kg) was given. The normal control group was given saline injection of the same dosage.Twenty-one days after the injection, six rats were taken randomly from each group to receive determination of average pulmonary artery pressure(mPAP) and average right ventricle pressure(mRVP).Eight rats was taken randomly from each group to observe pathological and morphological changes in the arteriole, the right ventricle and the lung tissue.RESULT Compared with the control group,mPAP and mRVP in the model group increased markedly, with marked statistical significance(P<0.01),arteriole and right ventricle thickened markedly, the cavity of the arteriole narrowed or even closed and there was marked infiltration of inflammatory cells of the lung tissue. In the Guilong Kechuanning group, the methylprednisolone group, the captopril group, the Compound Bulbus Allii Macrostemi Capsule high dosage group and the Compound Bulbus Allii Macrostemi Capsule low dosage group,mPAP and mRVP dropped markedly, with marked statistical significance(P<0.05 or P<0.01),arteriole and right ventricle thickened markedly, the cavity of the arteriole narrowed or even closed, and the infiltration of inflammatory cells of the lung tissue was relieved.CONCLUSION Compound Bulbus Allii Macrostemi Capsule can effectively relieve MCT-induced pulmonary hypertension in rats, the possible mechanism of which may lie in the inhibition and improvement of reconstruction of arteriole and right ventricle, the relief of inflammatory cell infiltration and the effective reduction of pulmonary pressure and right ventricle pressure. This study indicates that Compound Bulbus Allii Macrostemi Capsule is a promising recipe for the treatment and prevention of pulmonary hypertension and further study is indicated.
