Treating Thrombosis in Middle- aged and Elderly by Nourishing Yin and Promoting Production of Body fluid
GONG Jie- ning
2006, 22(2): 69-71.
Abstract:
Traditional Chinese medicine holds that the pathogenesis of thrombosis is blood stasis obstructing blood vessels. In this paper, the author puts forwards the view that in treating thrombosis in the middle-aged and the elderly, attention should be paid to the application of the method of nourishing yin and promoting the production of body fluid.Emphasis should be laid on nourishing yin, protecting vessels, promoting blood circulation and dispersing stasis. In clinical practice,it is advisable to use drugs that are cool, nourishing and tonifying, together with those for activating blood circulation and invigorating qi.
Pathological Nature of Syndrome of Invasion of Pleurodiaphragmatic Spaces by Pathogens
ZHU Jie-bin, ZHOU Xiao-ping
2006, 22(2): 72-74.
Abstract:
Anatomically, there is no exact location of the pleurodiaphragmatic spaces.Based on an analysis of the clinical manifestations of the syndrome of invasion of pleurodiaphragmatic spaces by pathogens, the ingredients of Dayuan Decoction, and the progression of the syndrome, the authors believe that the syndrome belongs to the syndrome of damp-heat in the spleen and stomach, caused by invasion of damp-heat into the spleen and stomach, with more dampness than heat.

2006, 22(2): 83-85.
Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate into the normal phase immunity-regulating effect of Sanwubai Powder in treating tumor.METHOD Subaxillary transplantation tumor models were made, treated with Sanwubai Powder in three different dosages, compared with a normal control group(saline group) and a positive medicine group (5-fluorouracil group).Eight days after drug administration, the tumors, thymus and spleen were taken and weighed and other indexes calculated.RESULT The tumor-inhibiting rates in the groups treated with medications were markedly different from those in the normal control group(P<0.01);no difference was found between the weights of thymus and spleen in the groups treated with Sanwubai Powder and the control group;in the 5-fluorouracil group, the weight of the spleen was markedly different from that in the control group(P<0.05);compared with the normal control group,IL-2 level rose(P<0.01) and IL-4 level dropped in the groups treated with Sanwubai Powder.CONCLUSION Sanwubai Powder has overall immunity-regulating effect in the treatment of tumor.
Anti - inflammatory Effect of Total Alkaloids Part of Rhizoma Pinelliae Tematae Praeparata
ZHOU Qian, WU Hao , WANG Qian - ru, LU Ai - juan
2006, 22(2): 86-88.
Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate into the anti-inflammatory effect of the total alkaloids part of Rhizoma Pinelliae Ternatae Praeparata.METHOD Observations were made on the anti-inflammatory effect of the total alkaloids part on mice models and determination was made on the PGE_2 content.RESULT The alkaloids in Rhizoma Pinelliae Ternatae Praeparata had marked inhibiting effect on auricle swelling of mice caused by xylene, increase of permeability of mice capillary caused by ethanoic acid, and the formation of granulation tumor in rats. The content of PGE_2 in the alkaloid group was greatly lower than that in the model group.CONCLUSION The total alkaloid part of Rhizoma Pinelliae Ternatae Praeparata has marked anti-inflammatory effect for multiple inflammation, which is related with the release and inhibition of the inflammation factor PGE_2.

A GC- MS Analysis on Dahurian Lily and Lipophilic Components in Its Water Extract
ZHANG Zhi-fie, CAI Bao-chang, WU Lu-ling, LI Lin
2006, 22(2): 91-93.
Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To analyze the categories of Dahurian Lily and the lipophilic components in its water extract.METHOD GC-MS method was used to analyze the contents of the extract of Dahurian Lily;mass spectrum bar graph analysis and NIST98 spectrum retrieval were employed to determine the structure of the compound;peak area normalization method was used to determine the percentage content of each component.RESULT 35 kinds of lipophilic componets were identified from the extract of scale leaves of Dahurian Lily, accounting for 69.8%;15 kinds of compounds were identified from the water extract of Dahurian Lily.CONCLUSION Part of the low-polarity components in Dahurian Lily has certain dissolution rate. This experiment has provided references for further study of the pharmacodynamic basis of Dahurian Lily.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To determine the content of Aristolochic Acid A in different parts of Herba cum Radice Asari and in Xuetie Dingchuan Plaster.METHOD HPLC method was used in the determination.RESULT The content of aristolochic acid A in the parts of Herba cum Radice Asari above the ground was higher that in the root part, and aristolochic acid A was not detected in the preparation.CONCLUSION It is reasonable that the 2005 edition of Chinese Pharmacopoeia specifies that the medicinal part of Herba cum Radice Asari is the root part, not the whole plant.Aristolochic acid A was not detected in Xuetie Dingchuan Plaster.

An Analysis of Causes of 50 Cases of Misdiagnosis of Bone and Joint Tuberculosis
LIN Yun-tao
2006, 22(2): 114-115.
Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To increase the accuracy rate of diagnosis of bone and joint tuberculosis and decrease misdiagnosis rate.METHOD An analysis was made with the 370 patients in our hospital diagnosed as bone and joint tuberculosis.RESULT Fifty cases were misdiagnosed, with a false positive rate of 14.5%.CONCLUSION The diagnosis of bone and joint tuberculosis should be made based on comprehensive information including symptoms, signs and result of examinations. The main cause of misdiagnosis is absence of specific clinical manifestations and relying on ancillary examinations.
Treatment of 30 Cases of Chronic Renal Failure with Chinese Medicines and Enteroclysis with Colon Therapeutic Apparatus

2006, 22(2): 116-117.
Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate into the effect of Chinese medicine combined with enteroclysis with colon therapeutic apparatus in prolonging the process of renal failure.METHOD Sixty patients with chronic renal failure were divided evenly into a treatment group and a control group, treated respectively with Chinese medicines and enteroclysis and basic Chinese medicines for three months.RESULT In the treatment group, renal function was improved in varying degrees, with a drop of blood urea nitrogen and creatinine(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Chinese medicines and enteroclysis with Colon Therapeutic Apparatus has definite effect in the treatment of chronic renal failure.

2006, 22(2): 125-127.
Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To optimize the alcohol extraction techniques of the medicinal herbs such as Rhizoma Corydalis Yanhusuo in Compound Tongsuxiao Drop Pill.METHOD Orthogonal method was used to optimize the alcohol extraction techniques, with the soft extract derivation rate and the content of corydalis B and ammidin as the indexes.RESULT The optimized extraction technique is the following: grind the medicinal material into powder soaked in 80% alcohol six times in amount for 12 hours, followed by extraction with the percolation method.CONCLUSION The optimized technique is workable.
