Textual Research on TCM Disease Names Related to Diabetic Nephropathy
ZHAO Jin-xi, DENG De-qiang, LI Jing
2005, 21(5): 288-289.
Abstract:
This paper presents textual research done on the TCM disease names related to diabetic nephropathy, based on available literature and clinical experience. The authors point out that diabetic nephropathy is closely related to "kidney consumption",which,if manifested by edema, can be diagnosed as "diabetes-edema";diabetic nephropathy with insufficiency of kidney function can be called "diabetes-kidney exhaustion";diabetic nephropathy at the late stage with kidney failure and uremia can be called "diabetes-obstruction and rejection".
Features in Internal Treatment for External Injuries Recorded ka Collection of Traumatology

2005, 21(5): 290-292.
Abstract:
Collection of Traumatology is a representative work in traumatology with lots of prescriptions for traumatology and clinical experience. One of the features is treating external injuries with internal methods,i.e.treating the spleen and stomach.Examples of these methods include using drugs of cold nature for coagulation, using drugs of warm nature to promote blood circulation, reinforcing the spleen to treat injuries of the muscles, using drugs for reinforcing qi to reinforce blood, etc. Some of the prescriptions are still used nowadays.

2005, 21(5)
Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To explore into the effect of Erbao Granule of different dosages on the Substance P expression of rat models with infantile anorexia.METHOD Infant rats were fed improperly to produce infantile anorexia models and immunohistochemical method was used to observe histiomorphological changes and changes in the content of Substance P.RESULT The content of Substance P in the basal part of the stomach and in the jejunal myenteric nerve plexus of the rat model decreased markedly as compared with the control group(P<0.05).After the use of Erbao Granule,Substance P content increased greatly(P<0.05),but with no difference between the small dosage group and the control group(P>0.05).Morphologically,there were varying degrees of changes in the gastrointestinal tissue in the model group and large dosage group.CONCLUSION Erbao Granule can promote Substance P secretion, thus improve appetite and speed up growth.

2005, 21(5): 299-301.
Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate into the effect of carp baked with Radix Astragali seu Hedysari on SOD,GSH-Px,NO and NOS of aging mice and explore into the possibility of health care with medicinal diet.METHOD Aging mice were fed with feedstuff mixed with carp baked with Radix Astragali seu Hedysari for 40 days, followed by determination of various indexes.RESULT In the groups with low and median dosage of carp baked with Radix Astragali seu Hedysari and the groups with median dosage of Radix Astragali seu Hedysari,SOD activity was markedly different from the experimental control group(P<0.05);this difference also existed between the high dosage groups and the experimental control group(P<0.05).In the groups of carp baked with Radix Astragali seu Hedysari, the activity of liver GSH-Px was marked different from the experimental control group(P<0.01).In the groups with low and median dosage of carp baked with Radix Astragali seu Hedysari, test is NO was markedly different from the experimental control group(P<0.05).In the groups with low dosage of carp baked with Radix Astragali seu Hedysari,NOS activity was markedly different from the experimental control group(P<0.05).CONCLUSION The medicinal diet carp baked with Radix Astragali seu Hedysari has certain anti-oxidation effect and can affect NO content and NOS activity of aging mice. Therefore, medicinal diet can be used for health care purposes.

2005, 21(5): 302-304.
Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate into the effect of Puerarin on the activity of AGEs,HUVECs and eNOS and on MDA content.METHOD Isotope two-step chromatography was used to determine the activity of AGEs and eNOS and trace fluorometric method was used to determine MDA content.RESULT After AGEs stimulation,eNOS activity decreased while MDA markedly increased. In the Puerarin group(500 mg/L),eNOS activity resumed its normal level(P<0.05) and MDA level decreased correspondingly, but not significantly.CONCLUSION Puerarin can inhibit decrease of the activity of HUVECs-eNOS induced by AGEs,but it can not markedly reduce the content of MDA in the endothelial cell under the same condition.

2005, 21(5): 314-315.
Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To explore into the therapeutic effect of coloclysis of Chinese drugs combined with venous instillation of chuanxiongzine.METHOD 117 patients with chronic renal insufficiency were treated with coloclysis of Chinese drugs combined with venous instillation of chuanxiongzine for three months.RESULT After three months of treatment,BUN and Scr of the patients were reduced markedly(P<0.05) and gastrointestinal symptoms were markedly relieved.CONCLUSION Coloclysis of Chinese drugs combined with venous instillation of chuanxiongzine is definitely effective for chronic renal insufficiency with azotemia.

2005, 21(5): 318-320.
Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To explore into the etiology of male infertility and provide evidence for clinical treatment.METHOD Based on WHO flow chart, male infertility patients from March 2004 to March 2005 were given diagnosis analysis and various kinds of examination.RESULT Azoospermatism accounted for 10.9%,oligospermatism 21.2%,seminal plasma AsAb positive 7.1%,and ambly-spermatism 52.7%.CONCLUSION Since ambly-spermatism becomes the main cause of male infertility, further research is needed to explore into its etiology and treatment. The occurrence of immune infertility is increasing and attention should be paid to the nasal diseases as its complication.

2005, 21(5): 326-327.
Abstract:
OBJECTIVE To investigate into the adsorption performance of macroporous adsorptive resins on tripdiolide.METHOD Observation were made by changing the concentration,pH value and flow rate.RESULT Optimal adsorption and separation of tripdiolide occurred under the following condition: 0.25 g/mL(concentration),3.0(pH value) and 1.0 mL/min.(flow rate).CONCLUSION The concentration,pH value and flow rate of Chinese drug eluant can affect the adsorption and separation of tripdiolide.

Abstract:
Tea leaf is of the functions of clearing the mind, resolving phlegm, promoting digestion, promoting urination, removing toxins, etc.and can be used to treat headache, blurred vision, drowsiness, vexation, indigestion, malaria, dysentery, etc. Its main component polyphenols can not only prevent aging and cardiovascular diseases, but can also induce the apoptosis and decomposition of tumor cells and prevent aberration and cancer metastasis. Therefore,We believe that it is necessary to carry out further studies on the effect of tea polyphenols in inhibiting tumor.
