Abstract: In the process of modernization of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)， there was limited investment in inherit and innovation of it and not enough importance has been attached to. On the basis of clinical experience， the paper put forward innovation of TCM theory should trace its original source and four perspectives have been mentioned: review of classics， inherit of masters experience， emphasis of clinic and elaborate thinking. According to fundamental theory in the Yellow Emperor's Inner Classic， inheritance of academic schools and clinical experience， neoteric rules and theories could be disclosed. It was hold that clinical experience and academic thoughts should be promoted simultaneously， reconstruction of pathogenesis theory as a staring point to inaugurate a new phase in TCM academic development.
